I had the pleasure of meeting with Matthew Patterson and Frederick McSwain of Cappellini the other day.
We got to talking about the minimal elegance of A.G. Fronzoni's 1964 furniture collection, which Cappellini produces.
It got me thinking - where could Fronzoni possibly have gone after designing furniture of such austere simplicity?
Answer: He had to go funky.
Thus, the cartoon above showing what his design for a chair in 1965 might have looked like.
I know - some pretty side-splitting design humor.
