We were in the lower east side the other day and walked by Eleven Rivington gallery. The gallery was closed unfortunately, but we peeked in the window and really liked what we saw - a group of paintings that are minimal riffs on Picasso's Guernica, done in spray paint by a french artist named Anne-Lise Coste.
There is something so direct and alive about these paintings, that we were immediately inspired - now this is how to approach painting! Playful, fun, inquisitive. We'll have to go back and check out the show when the gallery is open.
